Seven years ago, I left the film business, and wrote a book, a memoir, Blotto: Adventures in Alcoholism / Ruin to Recovery. It proved to be my most fulfilling writing experience. Encouraged, I wanted to write another book, but couldn’t find a subject matter. When Covid hit, I found myself in quarantine alone for a year with my dog, Baby. Having no one else to talk to, I talked to Baby, but found it frustrating when she wouldn’t talk back. Then it hit me, the idea for a new book - an isolated man with a talking dog - Hounded: A Love Story.
My upcoming book, The Yoyo Years, about a father and son who both suffer from bipolar disorder, will soon be published by Red Hen Press.
I’m hard at work on my newest creation, Hacked, a double character study of a comic strip creator who is computer hacked to the tune of fifty grand, and the woman who hacks him.
When not writing, I serve as a peer support specialist for people with bipolar disorder. Baby and I live in sleepy beach town in Southern California. As of yet, Baby has not uttered a word.
As for education, I attended Callison College, where I majored in Eastern Studies, and traveled to Japan for a year abroad. After that, I was a Film major at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena CA. Later, I taught filmmaking there.
